Hello, I'm Michelle, your storyteller and life photographer.

Photographer. Mum. Professional baby cuddler. Sunset chaser. Memory keeper.

Hey, I'm MJ. Newborn and family photographer. Perth Hills local. Recovering medical scientist nerd. Certified plant killer, dog mum, and wine enthusiast. Not necessarily in that order.

I spent years in a hospital lab staying calm under pressure, paying obsessive attention to detail, and keeping things alive. Two out of three of those skills transferred beautifully to newborn photography. (The plants are on their own.) I live in the Perth Hills with a small but opinionated collection of dogs, chickens, and plants I'm deeply committed to but mildly incompetent with. If that sounds like your kind of household energy, we're probably going to get along beautifully.

I photograph newborns, pregnancies, and families across the Perth Hills, and my approach is simple. I'll guide you through every moment...where to stand, what to do with your hands, how to actually relax in front of a camera, so you never have to wonder what you're supposed to be doing. Once you're comfortable, I step back and let things unfold naturally. The real stuff always does.

My newborn sessions are held in my cosy home studio in Darlington, where the lighting is soft, the pace follows your baby, and there’s always time for a feed, a cuddle, or a deep breath. I also offer in-home newborn and family lifestyle photoshoots. For maternity and family sessions, we head outdoors, chasing golden light, real connection, and the kind of magic that happens when your kids are free to just be themselves.

Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, my goal is always the same: to help you slow down, soak it all in, and walk away with images that feel like your family. The real, warm, wonderfully lived-in version that shows up on a Tuesday.

My sessions are calm, relaxed, and gently guided. No stiff poses, no pressure to be perfect. Just a little direction, genuine warmth, and space for you to be exactly who you are.
